1. Sale Ends Soon: Get Cruzio DSL by April 30th
If you order Cruzio DSL -- high-speed, broadband Internet access
-- right now, the modem is FREE. Take advantage of the chance to
get super-fast, always-on service for a low price. As with other
Cruzio services, our DSL comes with a reliable connection,
friendly service, and respect for your privacy -- we don't
share or sell your personal information to advertisers.

For more information about Cruzio DSL, and to order, check
	http://www.cruzio.com/services/highspeed_access/

If you're not quite ready for DSL, but thinking about it,
watch these newsletters. We have specials on DSL every
so often and we announce them early to our customers here.

2. Dialup Special: New Customers Buy 2 months, Get 1 Free
Speaking of specials, there is a sale on basic Cruzio Internet
service (dial-up) in the month of May: buy a new dialup, pay
for two months, and get the third month free. It's a great deal
on a great service.

Remember that if you recommend us to a friend, you can get
a $10 credit on your account (see "Buddy Bucks", below.)

This special applies if you are ordering a second dialup,
too -- if you're thinking of adding a separate connection, or
bonding two dialups together for faster speed.

By the way, while Cruzio talks a great deal about our broadband
(DSL) services, we work hard on dialup service, too. We own, maintain
and improve our own equipment; we stay ahead of demand, and have not
experienced a busy signal in years (thanks to our excellent engineering
staff!); and lately Cruzio has partnered with a company called Propel
which speeds up Web surfing for dialup connections for an extra fee
(To read more about Propel, visit the Web page:
http://www.propel.com/partners/1220/ )

3. Let's Talk About Spam
Many Internet citizens are suffering. All ISPs are deluged.
It seems that junk email is the weak spot of this wonderful
thing that the Internet has become. At Cruzio, we are bailing
spam out of our servers as fast as we can. Our efforts are
ongoing, and we're always looking for new ways to reduce junk
email without losing real messages -- not so easy, since
spammers are always trying to pretend they know you. The
spammers are clever and constantly finding new ways around
protective schemes. Rest assured we will not give up.

To reduce spam about as much as humanly possible, please
try your spam filters (if you haven't already.) Just go
to your Cruzio Control Panel and enable the Junk Email
filter. Pow! -- much spam bashed. If you turned on your
filter more than 8 months ago, and are unhappy about the
level of spam, please go back to your Cruzio Control Panel
and make sure to enable the "Advanced Features." For
more information, see
	http://www.cruzio.com/support/email/junkmail.html

4. Santa Cruz Digital Arts Festival Winding Down
Just a few days to go in the Santa Cruz Digital Arts
Festival. The events are over, but exhibitions remain
until the end of April. Some wonderful work by local artists
working with computers and technology has been displayed.
We're happy to see several Cruzio members -- and Cruzio
staff -- displaying art in this exhibition! It's gratifying
that local computing power contributes to something even beyond
office efficiency.

Here are a few favorite featured Web pages. These two artists
appeared at a workshop with Festival Director Daryl Wise
last weekend and their work is stunning (in this writer's
opinion):

in many media, visit

5. Join Cruzio for Internet-Coffee Talk
Cruzio is returning to coffee shops near you to continue our
Internet-Coffee Talk program. Throughout the first week of May,
Cruzio staff will visit several local coffee shops throughout
Santa Cruz County. These visits are an excellent opportunity
for Cruzio customers to get their questions answered in the
comfort of their local hangout. We will be paying visits at
the following dates and times:

Monday, May 5th at Coffeetopia on Mission St. from 3-4pm
Tuesday, May 6th at the NetCafe in Watsonville from 3-4:30pm
Wednesday, May 7th Coffeetopia in Boulder Creek from 8:30-9:30am
Thursday, May 8th at the Ugly Mug in Soquel from 3-4pm
Friday, May 9th at the White Raven from 8:30-9:30

6. Buddy Bucks
Recommend Cruzio to a new customer, and we will thank you with a
$10 credit to your account. Make sure your friend gives your
email address, registration number, or name when signing up so
we know whom to thank!

7. Bring Cans to Cruzio
Cruzio keeps Second Harvest Food Bank barrels in our storefront
all year 'round. You are welcome to bring cans of food for the
hungry and leave them in the barrels. We also have little piggy
banks for spare change. If you are ever late with a payment to
Cruzio, bring in 3 cans of food and we will waive the late fee.

8. About This Newsletter
Cruzio doesn't like to waste bandwidth with extra email, but we sometimes
have events and announcements that users need to know about. This seems
like the most efficient way to let people know what's happening. Hope
it's helpful. Please email support@cruzio.com with any comments or questions.
By the way, we would love to have a regular, predictable schedule
for this newsletter...but we simply do not send it unless there is real
news enclosed. Thus the haphazard datelines.

Carly picked up a greenish rock while hiking near Yosemite.
"Look Mommy!" she called out, "It's a limestone!"

(I suppose a yellow rock would be a lemonstone...)
