1. Try Cruzio's New, Free Webmail
Cruzio members asked for a faster, more fully functional way
to read email over the Web. It's here now: you can start using
it right away if you like. See it at:

  Cruzio WebMail http://www.cruzio.com/misc/check_email.html

Just fill in your email login and password, and you're off. If you've
been running on autopilot for a while and don't remember your login and
password, just email Cruzio (office@cruzio.com) or give us a call
(459-6301 option 2).

We think you'll enjoy this new service. It's speedy, easy to use,
and contains nifty features like a calendar and address book.
You can access it from anywhere you browse the Web. Cruzio WebMail
works well with our free Spam filtering system, too.

2. Recycle Computers for Earthday
This Friday, April 29th, from 10 am to 6 pm, is "E-cycle Dropoff
Day" at Cruzio. At both our storefronts (Santa Cruz and Watsonville)
we'll be accepting gently used computer systems with these specs:

-- PC's: Pentium III or newer, running Windows 98 or higher
-- Apple computers: running OS 9.2 or higher
-- Either type should have 64 MB of RAM or more

Please bring complete computer systems: computer, monitor, and
keyboard.

The event is a partnership between Cruzio and The Spot Computer
Training Center. All donated computers will be distributed by The Spot
to Pajaro Valley School students, as part of their computer donation
program. The program aims to help bridge the digital divide by
providing economically disadvantaged Pajaro Valley families with
relatively new computers and computer training. The drop-off day is a
great opportunity to clean out your office and support a good cause.

What if your computer is older, incomplete or broken? Please see our
page on computer and peripheral recycling:
  http://www.cruzio.com/services/business/earth_friendly_resources.html

3. Free Workshop This Thursday: Basic Troubleshooting and Security
        All Worms Are Not Organic!
        Thursday, April 28th, 12:00-1:30PM
Cruzio Store, 903 Pacific Avenue, Santa Cruz
        See details at http://events.cruzio.com

We all wonder, from time to time, what troubles our machines are
getting themselves into. Computers can be slowed or stopped
by a problem that, after all, is common and simple to fix.
Computers can be silently infected by viruses and worms which
affect performance and even expose us to risk of identity theft.

Don't just worry about these possible problems; learn how to avoid
them. We'll discuss basic troubleshooting and recovery for your
computer, and show you tools and techniques to combat viruses and
protect your privacy. This workshop is led by our own personable
Tech Support chief, Stephen, along with able Cruzio Tech Support
staffer Mike.

4. Watsonville Store Now Open
Cruzio's downtown Watsonville store opened for business just
over a month ago. We had a very grand Grand Opening party,
with friendly clowns and a lively radio onsite broadcast, plus
a pinata, raffle and, of course, many speeches. See the pictures
of our handsome staff, colleagues and customers at
    http://www.micruzio.com/inauguracion/inauguracion.html

Cruzio members have already been taking advantage of the Watsonville
location for renting computer time, purchasing a new service, or
paying a bill. Please do feel free to drop in and do the same!
Long-time Cruzio employee Gershom Toriz, now Watsonville Store
Manager, is on hand most days to answer questions and help you
get started with a new or upgraded service.

Warm thanks from Cruzio to all the folks in Watsonville -- El
Pajaro CDC, the Chamber of Commerce, the Mayor and the City
Council -- who make it not just possible but a pleasure to do
business in the community.

Also thanks are due to our own staff members who managed to
set up both a spiffy store and a fun party.

By the way, for those of you who collect and wear Cruzio's
sweatshop-free, American-made tee shirts: there is a new style
available only in Watsonville. Fuschia or Grass Green, in men's
and women's sizes. Another good reason to stop in our new
location!

5. Got Cruzio DSL? You Can Get, or Extend, the Sale Price
If you have Cruzio DSL and are paying the higher month-to-month
price, you can currently get our sale price by signing up for a
one-year term.

If you are already somewhere in your one-year term, and wish to
renew, you can do so at any time while the current special lasts.
And of course, if you are new to DSL you are also eligible for
the sale price.

Visit http://www.cruzio.com/services/highspeed_access/ for more
information, and //signup.cruzio.com/dsl_sale.html to sign up.

Remember, too: you can save money on DSL or any Cruzio service
by recommending us to a friend. See item 8 for how much you can save!

6. Use Your Free Accelerator to Browse up to 5x Faster
Don't forget to check out Cruzio's new, free Web accelerator
if you have a dialup connection. It may eliminate your need
for more expensive broadband. For information on how to use
this new feature, please see
  http://www.cruzio.com/support/dialup_isdn/accelerator.html

7. Cruzio Wins 2005 Good Times and Metro Awards
You really like us! Cruzio was voted #1 Internet Service Provider
in Santa Cruz County in both the Metro Santa Cruz and the Good
Times 2005 polls.

We are very honored to receive these awards for the 11th year
in a row -- no other business has come first in their category so
many times. Perhaps it's our dedication to customer service --
or maybe it's our attention to detail, making us more reliable than
companies many times our size. We have to admit our cute kitty logo
is at least partially responsible. Whatever the reasons, we aim to
do even better for you in the coming year.

8. Buddy Bucks
Recommend us to friends, family, colleagues: if a new customer
gives us your email address, registration number, or full name when
they sign up you'll get $10 credit to your account. If two friends
sign up, $20. Three friends, $30. It just goes on and on.

To celebrate the opening of Cruzio's new Watsonville store,
until July 1, 2005 we are *doubling* our Buddy Bucks offer if
you refer a new customer from Watsonville, Freedom, Aromas, Pajaro
or Corralitos. That's $20 credit per referral!

9. Cans Instead of Late Fees
If you're late on a payment to Cruzio, turn it into a donation
to hungry folks in our community. We will waive your late
fee if you bring 3 cans into our office for our Second Harvest
Food Bank barrel. Learn more about this charity at
        http://www.thefoodbank.org

10. About This Newsletter
Cruzio doesn't like to waste bandwidth with extra email, but we sometimes
have events and announcements that users need to know about. This seems
like the most efficient way to let people know what's happening. Hope
it's helpful. Please email support@cruzio.com with any comments or questions.
By the way, we would love to have a regular, predictable schedule
for this newsletter...but we simply do not send it unless there is real
news enclosed. Thus the haphazard datelines.
