Happy Friday! Here are some cool things happening in the area this weekend.

1. Santa Cruz Garage Sale is happening May 30th and 31st

The City of Santa Cruz sponsors Garage Sale Weekend to promote reuse, repair, and resale opportunities in our community. The City of Santa Cruz will publicize the event, encouraging residents to either hold a sale at their home or go garage sale shopping. The spring 2015 Santa Cruz Garage Sale Weekend is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, May 30th and 31st.  Visit a garage sale near you and check out the Garage Sale Treasure Map at www.cityofsantacruz.com/garage sales.

2. Redwood Mountain Faire, May 30th and 31st

A benefit faire for local nonprofit organizations happening this weekend at Roaring Camp! Attendees enjoy 22 bands over the weekend, a meadow filled with booths featuring the work of local artists, and delicious food and drink from Santa Cruz County vendors. Music begins at 11:00am, you can get tickets and info. at SLVRMF.com.

3. Mountain Community Theater Presents: The Madwoman of Chaillot

Playing from May 29th through June 14th at Park Hall, Ben Lomond. The Madwoman of Chaillot is a poetic satire describing a clash in ideologies, written by Jean Giraudoux in 1943 in Paris. For tickets and information go to mctshows.org.

4. Music in May with the Chamber Music Community

8th Annual Festival is happening May 29th and 30th at Peace United Church. Featuring music by Mozart, Mendelssohn, Franck, Debussy and Faure. For Tickets and information go to www.musicinmay.org..

5. Santa Cruz Shakespeare Preview at Bookshop Santa Cruz, happening June 1st.

Monday eventing at 7:00pm Artistic Director, Mike Ryan will discuss the upcoming season; Much Ado About Nothing, The Liar, MacBeth and this year’s fringe production, The Rover. He will also be sharing a scenic model and costume sketches!
