How to update Outlook 2007 for Windows to use the new Cruzio email settings

Step-by-step instructions on how to change your email settings for Cruzio’s 2018 email upgrade. Use for all email addresses ending in @cruzio.com, @baymoon.com, @rattlebrain.com, @calcentralcom, @scshop.com, @elgatito.com, @ebold.com, @skyhighway.com, @cruziolatino.com and @icogitate.com. If you own your own custom domain name, you don’t have to make changes at this time.

Step 1 – Launch Outlook 2007 from your desktop icon or start menu.

Step 2 – Along the top menu bar, left click “Tools” and then locate and left click the menu option for “Account Settings…”

Step 3 – In the bottom section of the “Account Settings” window, left click the email address you need to update. Just above the bottom pane, left click “Change…” This will open a new window labeled “Internet E-mail Settings”.

Step 4 – In the “Internet E-mail Settings” window, under “Server Information”, you will find the “Outgoing mail server (SMTP):” box. In this box, type in the server name assigned to your email address from the table below.

Step 5 – In the “Change Account” window, under “Logon Information”, type your full email address into the “User Name:” box (for example, johndoe@cruzio.com or janedoe@baymoon.com).

Step 6 – In the bottom right corner of the “Internet E-mail Settings” window, left click “More Settings … “. This will open a new smaller window labeled “Internet E-mail Settings”.

Step 7 – One of the tabs across the top of this new window is labeled “Outgoing Server” tab, left click it.

Step 8 – On the “Outgoing Server” tab, check the box for “My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication”

Step 9 – Choose “Log on using”.

Step 10 – In the “User Name:” box, type in your full email address (for example, johndoe@cruzio.com or janedoe@baymoon.com).

Step 11 – In the “Password:” box, type in your password.

Step 12 – Check the “Remember password” box.

Step 13 – One of the tabs across the top of this new window is labeled “Advanced”, left click it.

Step 14 – You will find two places on this page that say, “Use the following type of encrypted connection:”, Choose “None” on both of these.

Step 15 – Next to “Outgoing server (SMTP):” type in 587.

Step 16 – On the bottom of the “Outgoing Server” window, left click “OK”, this will close this window, and take you back to the “Change Account” window.

Step 17 – On the bottom of the “Internet E-mail Settings window, left click “Next >”, this will open a new window labeled “Test Account Settings”,which will verify your Account Settings.

Step 18 – This should complete with two green check marks. Left click “Close”. (If no green check marks appear, please go over the above steps to make sure they’ve been completed.)

Step 19 – Your screen should now show, “Congratulations!”. Left click the “Finish” button at the bottom.

Step 20 – Close the “Account Settings” window by clicking “Close” in the bottom right corner.

Step 21 – Test sending and receiving — sending yourself an email message is a good way to do this.

Step 22 – You have successfully completed the email changes.

Step 9 – In the “User Name:” box, type in your full email address (for example, johndoe@cruzio.com or janedoe@baymoon.com).

Step 10 – In the “Password:” box, type in your password.

Step 11 – Click “OK” at the bottom right of this window.

Step 1 – Launch Thunderbird from your desktop icon or toolbar.

Step 2 – In the left pane of the Thunderbird window, find the email address you want to update. Click on your email address. The right pane should change to a menu related to that account.

Step 3 – In the right pane, in the “Accounts” section, click “View Settings for this Account.” An “Account Settings” window should appear.

Step 4 – In the left pane, scroll down until you see the “Outgoing Server (SMTP). Click on it. The right pane should change to an “Outgoing Server (SMTP) Settings” window.

Step 5 – On the far right, click the “Add” button to create a new entry.

Step 6 – You can leave the description box blank.

Step 7 – In the “Server Name:” box, type in the server name assigned to your email address from the table below.

Step 10 – Click “OK” to save these settings and close this window.

Step 11 – Now, in the left pane, scroll up until you see your email address. Click on it. The right pane should change to the “Account Settings” window.

Step 12 – In the right pane, find the “Outgoing Server (SMTP)” dropdown and choose the SMTP server you created above (for example smtpauth.cruzio.com or smtpauth.baymoon.com).

Step 13 – In the left pane of the “Account Settings” window, click “Server Settings”. The right pane should change to the “Server Settings” window.

Step 14 – Check that the “User Name:” box on this page has your full email address, including the domain (cruzio.com, baymoon.com, etc). If the box only contains the part of your email address before the @ symbol, change it to your full email address.

Step 15 – Under “Security Settings”, “Connection Security”, make sure the drop-down menu is set to “None”.

Step 16 – Under “Security Settings”, “Authentication Method”, make sure “Authentication Method” is set to “Password, transmitted insecurely”. You do not need to change any other settings on this page.

Step 17 – Click “OK” to save changes.

Step 18 – Test sending and receiving. The email program will ask you for your password. You can choose to save it by left clicking the “Use Password Manager” box if you desire.

Step 19 – You have successfully completed the email changes.

How to update Mac Mail 9 to use the new Cruzio email settings

Step 1 – Open Apple Mail from your desktop or toolbar.

Step 2 – Click “Mail” in the upper left hand corner and choose “Preferences”. This will open a new window in the middle of your screen.

Step 3 – Click the “Accounts” tab at the top of this window. The left pane in this window will now display all the accounts configured in this program.

Step 4 – In the left pane, click the email account you wish to update. That will display the settings for that account in the right pane.

Step 5 – In the “Accounts” window in the right pane, click the “Account Information” tab. You will see the account information for this email listed below.

Step 6 – Under “Account Information”, check that the “User Name” box on this page has your full email address,. If the box only contains the part of your email address before the @ symbol, type in your full email address.

Step 7 – In the “Accounts” window in the right pane, click the “Advanced” tab.

Step 24 – You may now see an error message saying “Unable to verify account name or password.”  This is a known Mac Mail bug. If you don’t see this error you can close your settings window and send and receive as normal. Please continue to follow the steps in this guide if you receive any errors when closing the “Accounts” page.

Step 25 – If you get an error message saying, “Unable to verify account name or password.” click “OK” then click the red dot in the upper right hand corner.

Step 26 – A new window will appear saying it could not save the changes. Click “Don’t save” Don’t worry, it will save the changes you have made to settings. You can now send and receive email. Test your settings by sending yourself an email.

Note: Due to a Mac Mail bug, the word ‘offline’ may appear next to the server name in the Accounts window. That’s okay, the settings are correct if you can successfully send and receive email.”

Step 12 – In the “Password:” box, type in your password for the email you are configuring.

Step 13 – In the “Host Name:” box, type in the server name assigned to your email address from the table below.

Step 1 – Click the “Email” icon on your home screen.

Step 2 – In the upper left corner of the email app, click the icon that looks like 3 lines. A screen should open on the left.

Step 3 – On this screen, in the upper right corner, click the gear icon . An “EMAIL SETTINGS” screen should appear.

Step 4 – In the “Accounts” area, click on the email address you want to change. A new screen should appear.

Step 5 – Scroll to the very bottom of the new screen and, under “Advanced Settings” click on “Server settings”. The “SERVER SETTINGS” screen should appear.

Step 6 – In the “ACCOUNT” section, make sure that the “User name” is your full email address. If it is not your full email address, please contact us at cruzio.com/contact. Otherwise you can continue on to Step 7.

Step 7 – Scroll down in the “SERVER SETTINGS” screen. In the “INCOMING SERVER” section, make sure “Security type” is set to None. You should not need to change any other “INCOMING SERVER” settings.

Step 8 – Scroll down. In the “OUTGOING SERVER” section, change the “SMTP server” to the server name assigned to your email address from the table below.

Step 9 – Make sure that “Security type” is set to None.

Step 10 – Scroll down. Turn on “Authentication required before sending emails” by clicking the slider button on the right. It should toggle to the right and change colors.

Step 11 – In the “User name” field, type in your full email address. (for example, johndoe@cruzio.com or janedoe@baymoon.com)

Step 12 – In the “Password” field, type in your email password.

Step 13 – Click “Done” at the bottom of the screen. The program will authenticate your settings, and, if everything’s entered as instructed, the “Server Settings” screen should close. If it doesn’t close, please double check all the steps above.

Step 14 – Click the “back” (“<”) icon in the upper left corner until you are back to your inbox. Step 15 – Test sending and receiving by sending yourself an email. The email app will ask you for your password. You can choose to save it by clicking the “Use Password Manager” box if you desire. Step 16 – You have successfully completed the email changes.
