1. Free Beginners' Classes in July
"Intro to Computer and the Internet"
   Tues, July 11 & Thurs, July 13; 7 - 9:30 pm; FREE
   Cruzio's downtown Watsonville Store,
23 E. Beach St., Plaza Vigil

Learn computer and Internet basics at these hands-on workshops
taught by our friendly, knowledgeable Watsonville Store Manager
Gershom. At the first class, we'll practice keyboarding and moving
around the computer, creating and saving files. At the next class,
we'll be doing searches on the Internet and sending email. Lots of
great tips on avoiding spam and viruses. Questions are welcome!

If you've got friends or family who find computers daunting, this
is a great way to get them feeling more comfortable.

These classes are for beginners, and will be in both English and
Spanish. No registration necessary, but please give us a call to
let us know if you plan to attend. For details, see
	http://events.cruzio.com
or call our Watsonville office at 831 722-6200.

And please, don't forget that you can drop in to our Watsonville
store any Wednesday afternoon between 3 and 6 pm for a free workshop.
As a bonus, attendees receive 2.5 hours of free computer rental
time! (Useful for checking soccer scores -- see item 3, below).

2. "Selling Your Products Online" Workshop This Thursday
	June 15, 2006, 12 to 1:30 pm; $10.00
At Cruzio's Downtown Santa Cruz Store, 903 Pacific Avenue

This is one of our most popular workshops: Cruzio's dynamic
Marketing director, Kathy Bisbee, will show you how to use Cruzio's
online store wizard, ShopSite, to set up your own store on the Web.
ShopSite is used by thousands of small-to-medium-sized businesses
around the country. It's a favorite because it's easy to set up and
maintain. With ShopSite you can even add a shopping cart to an existing
Web site! We'll go through the process step-by-step, and you'll
have a chance to ask questions.

Please register in advance, as seating is limited:

3. Soccer World Cup June 9 to July 9
Every four years the world puts the everyday on hold and
celebrates life, diversity and "the beautiful game" with the
FIFA World Cup. This year the tournament is hosted by Germany
and both Mexico and the US are among the competing nations.

Will the mighty Brazil lift the trophy again?
Will England invoke the glories of 1966?
Or will a new force emerge to hoist the golden sphere?

Follow all the action online at the official World cup site:
	http://fifaworldcup.yahoo.com/

If you need to check the scores on the go (as some of us
obviously do), stop by either of our two convenient store
locations to browse the Web -- remember that Cruzio members
get 1/2 hour free time on our rental computers.

4. Restore and Protect Your Computer -- $20 off
Having a computer that runs smoothly saves time and stress.
For just $149 -- and $20 off for Cruzio members -- Cruzio can
give a full clean-up treatment to your computer, removing harmful
worms, viruses, adware, and popups; checking and cleaning your
hard disk; and generally improving performance until the computer
runs like new.

You don't have to hire Cruzio to do this work. We provide information
to those who want to do it themselves:
	http://www.cruzio.com/support/security/

But many folks prefer to have our experts do the job (and honestly,
we are good at it). If you'd like us to work on your computer, call
459-6301 to make an appointment or see our Web page for more information:

5. E-cycle Day a Big Success
We'd like to thank our customers who participated in this past
weekend's E-Cycle Day at Cruzio. We collected several TRUCKLOADS of
monitors, computers, keyboards, mice and other computer equipment at
both our Santa Cruz and Watsonville locations. This waste will be
recycled and the proceeds will go to support California Grey Bears, a
local organization that feeds low-income senior citizens.

We'd like to thank our Cruzio team; Westi, Chris F, Gershom, James,
Kathy and Chris C. for their efforts to make this event a huge
success. We will be planning future Cruzio events around recycling
electronic waste, so stay tuned!

6. Coping with COPE
Just a few days ago, Congress ignored all the hubbub about
Net Neutrality and quietly voted down the Neutrality amendment
to the COPE telecommunications bill. Deliberations are now
moving to the Senate.

Cruzio doesn't generally express political opinions. We break
the rule for one issue only: laws and regulations affecting the
Internet industry. True, it's a self-interested exception.
Our survival depends on an open Internet.

But also, we understand the telecommunications business. Regulation
in this field is often called "complex" and "byzantine." Not to us.
We know this industry; we are interested in its health -- not just
selfishly. We serve individuals and small businesses, who are the
most likely to be hurt by proposed changes.

So, we are advocating that people get behind the Net Neutrality
idea. It's a powerful and important one. We recommend you read
up a bit on the subject, and if you agree, sign petitions, and pay
attention. Without public advocacy and support, the Internet as we
know it may be gone -- before you know it.

Here are a few news articles on the subject, and we'll get off the
soapbox.

7. Computer Consultants Alert!
This summer, Cruzio will be introducing new products of special
interest to computer consultants and Web designers. To be on the
list for an invitation to several events specially designed for
consultants, and to get advance information on our offerings,
please email events@cruzio.com. Our first event will be held
on July 20th. See you there!

8. Moving?
If you're moving your home or office, please contact Cruzio.
We're here to help the Internet portion of your move go smoothly.
It's best to let us know several weeks ahead of time, especially
if you have DSL or if you're canceling a phone line. We can often
save you from an interruption in Internet service and prevent
costly fees -- but you've got to let us know. For more information,
please see
    http://www.cruzio.com/services/highspeed_access/move_dsl.html

9. Low DSL Prices Available to All Cruzio Customers
Just another reminder that during our current special, all Cruzio DSL
customers are eligible for our low sale price. Just commit to a new
12-month term and you'll pay the same low price as a new customer.
Visit
    http://www.cruzio.com/services/highspeed_access/
for more information, and
    //signup.cruzio.com/dsl_sale.html
to sign up for a new term, or to extend your current term.

10. Buddy Bucks
Recommend us to friends, family, colleagues: if a new customer
gives us your email address, registration number, or full name when
they sign up you'll get $10 credit to your account. If two friends
sign up, $20. Three friends, $30. And you are doing them a favor, too.

11. Late Fees Waived if You Help Us Feed the Hungry
If you're late on a payment to Cruzio, turn it into a donation
to hungry folks in our community. We will waive your late
fee if you bring 3 cans into our office for our Second Harvest
Food Bank barrel. Learn more about this charity at
	http://www.thefoodbank.org

12. About This Newsletter
Cruzio doesn't like to waste bandwidth with extra email, but we sometimes
have events and announcements that users need to know about. This seems
like the most efficient way to let people know what's happening. Hope
it's helpful. Please email support@cruzio.com with any comments or questions.
By the way, we would love to have a regular, predictable schedule
for this newsletter...but we simply do not send it unless there is real
news enclosed. Thus the haphazard datelines.

to use and you're not using it."

an old Unix email program (elm) and not Cruzio's multi-featured
graphical Web Mail. Hey, don't rush us!
