What is coworking?
Simply stated, coworking means renting desk spaces cubicle or an office in a larger office environment shared with other companies or professionals. It has become more and more popular with the changing economy because it provides the flexibility for businesses to grow and contract, as needed. Coworking also provides individuals the opportunity to network with other members (to keep from getting lonely!) and a quiet place to come when you need a break from distractions at home.
Why should I rent space in Cruzioworks?
We’ve got the fastest internet connection in the community: 10 gigabits per second of fiberoptic internet coming into the data center attached to the Cruzioworks space.
We promote your business. Unless we hear otherwise, your business will be listed on the cruzio.com website, which gets over 30,000 unique visitors a month.
We offer great amenities such as a coffee bar, bike and car parking, break room/kitchen, and many other features.
As a Cruzio member, you are eligible for discounts on services and use of the event space, to name a couple.
Where is Cruzioworks located?
Cruzioworks is located at 877 Cedar Street, Santa Cruz, CA 95060. Our main entrance is at the corner of Church Street and Cedar Street in downtown Santa Cruz.
What is the Cruzioworks work environment like?
We strive to maintain a professional and respectful atmosphere. You rent the space that has the privacy, comfort, and amenities your business needs. If you would like a quiet space, we recommend the area next to the data center. People who would like to chat are encouraged to use a meeting room. If you enjoy listening to music while you work, please use headphones. Like we said, Cruzioworks just asks members to respect each other and the coworking space.
So how does Cruzioworks, erm, work?
We provide a great place to work with comfortable ergonomic seating, a light-filled and airy environment and blazing fast internet. You as a member decide how you want to use the space and when. We offer different tiers of membership from 9-5 access to a full private office.
I’m not sure it’s for me, can I try it out?
Absolutely. Get a day pass for $25 or a 5-day pass for $89. If this works for you, great. If and when you’re ready, upgrade to a full membership.
When is Cruzioworks open?
Cruzioworks is open from 9 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday. However, with 24/7 membership, you will have access to your space whenever you need it.
Do I have access to office supplies, print/fax/scan, and mail at Cruzioworks?
Yes! For office supplies and print/fax/scan rates, please ask the front desk. Mail service, available during Cruzioworks office hours, comes free of charge when you are renting an office.
What are my transportation and parking options?
Cruzioworks is conveniently located to provide you a multitude of transportation and parking options.
Walking: a quick and healthy walk, Cruzioworks is located less than a mile from the Santa Cruz Metro Station.
Public transportation: we are also accessible by taking the 10 bus (UCSC High St) to the Cedar & Walnut stop. Or the 13 bus (UCSC Walnut St) to the Cedar & Lincoln stop.
Biking: we encourage you to bike. There are 36 bike racks located around the outside of the building. Remember to lock your wheels. Please, no bikes inside.
Driving: parking behind Cruzioworks is available on a first come, first served basis. Please only park in spaces marked ‘CRUZIO.’ Coworkers are encouraged to park at one of the three parking facilities across the street (including a 4-story garage a block north on Cedar Street, a 2-story garage across the street on Cedar, and a surface lot across the street on Church). Permit parking requires proof of your downtown working status, please see the front desk for the form you would use.
Can I use the entire coworking space for an event?
Absolutely! As a member, you get access to discounted pricing. Please see the Coworking Features and Amenities page or go to events.cruzio.com for additional information. Cruzioworks curates and regulates events in the space so they are a benefit, and not a hinderance, to coworkers. As a coworker, you are welcome to attend these events… just another perk of being a Cruzioworks member!
I don’t suppose you have space for my servers too?
Glad you asked. As an internet Exchange Point (IXP) Cruzio also houses a state-of-the-art data center. If you have an office at Cruzioworks, we can easily cross-connect you directly to your rack, keeping everything on LAN. Check out our Colocation page for more info.
