How to update Outlook 2007 for Windows to use the new Cruzio email settings

Step-by-step instructions on how to change your email settings for Cruzio’s 2018 email upgrade. Use for all email addresses ending in @cruzio.com, @baymoon.com, @rattlebrain.com, @calcentralcom, @scshop.com, @elgatito.com, @ebold.com, @skyhighway.com, @cruziolatino.com and @icogitate.com. If you own your own custom domain name, you don’t have to make changes at this time.

Step 1 – Launch Outlook 2007 from your desktop icon or start menu.

Step 2 – Along the top menu bar, left click “Tools” and then locate and left click the menu option for “Account Settings…”

Step 3 – In the bottom section of the “Account Settings” window, left click the email address you need to update. Just above the bottom pane, left click “Change…” This will open a new window labeled “Internet E-mail Settings”.

Step 4 – In the “Internet E-mail Settings” window, under “Server Information”, you will find the “Outgoing mail server (SMTP):” box. In this box, type in the server name assigned to your email address from the table below.

Step 5 – In the “Change Account” window, under “Logon Information”, type your full email address into the “User Name:” box (for example, johndoe@cruzio.com or janedoe@baymoon.com).

Step 6 – In the bottom right corner of the “Internet E-mail Settings” window, left click “More Settings … “. This will open a new smaller window labeled “Internet E-mail Settings”.

Step 7 – One of the tabs across the top of this new window is labeled “Outgoing Server” tab, left click it.

Step 8 – On the “Outgoing Server” tab, check the box for “My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication”

Step 9 – Choose “Log on using”.

Step 10 – In the “User Name:” box, type in your full email address (for example, johndoe@cruzio.com or janedoe@baymoon.com).

Step 11 – In the “Password:” box, type in your password.

Step 12 – Check the “Remember password” box.

Step 13 – One of the tabs across the top of this new window is labeled “Advanced”, left click it.

Step 14 – You will find two places on this page that say, “Use the following type of encrypted connection:”, Choose “None” on both of these.

Step 15 – Next to “Outgoing server (SMTP):” type in 587.

Step 16 – On the bottom of the “Outgoing Server” window, left click “OK”, this will close this window, and take you back to the “Change Account” window.

Step 17 – On the bottom of the “Internet E-mail Settings window, left click “Next >”, this will open a new window labeled “Test Account Settings”,which will verify your Account Settings.

Step 18 – This should complete with two green check marks. Left click “Close”. (If no green check marks appear, please go over the above steps to make sure they’ve been completed.)

Step 19 – Your screen should now show, “Congratulations!”. Left click the “Finish” button at the bottom.

Step 20 – Close the “Account Settings” window by clicking “Close” in the bottom right corner.

Step 21 – Test sending and receiving — sending yourself an email message is a good way to do this.

Step 22 – You have successfully completed the email changes.
