Santa Cruz Digital Arts Festival 5. Se habla Espanol at Cruzio 6. About This Newsletter 7. How to Reach Cruzio (dial-in or tech support) 1. Cruzio's home page over 8 million hits 8,000,000 is a large number, and we're gratified to report Cruzio has received over 8 million visits to our home page http://www.cruzio.com since we started counting in late 1995. It's the grand dame of local Web pages, winning "favorite" status every year in local reader polls. Cruzio provides the page absolutely free, with no ads or irritating flashing gizmos. Its lively, Santa-Cruz-County-centric contents come courtesy of Webmaster Chris. Hooray Chris! 2. Help us update www.cruzio.com Like many venerable institutions, Cruzio's home site occasionally needs an update. We are currently working on re-doing the graphics and rearranging the contents. We'd like your help. Please go to http://www.cruzio.com/survey/ on or before Friday, April 5th, 2002, and tell us what you like about Cruzio's home page. Cruzio will randomly select one survey entrant for a prize: $100 worth of Cruzio services! We will report the results in the next newsletter (it ought to be interesting) and use customer input in our redesign. Many thanks. Note: please enter just once. 3. Sign up a friend: Buddy Bucks Cruzio's new customers often mention that "a friend told them" about our services. We like to thank those friends, grandchildren, neighbors, and the waiter who mentions us at brunch. When you tell people about Cruzio, ask them to mention you when they sign up and you will receive $10 credit on your own Cruzio account. Sign up enough people, and you won't have to pay a Cruzio bill until Saint Swithin's Day 2018 even if you don't know what day that is.* If you'd like to remind your friends with a handy Buddy Bucks form, please find the forms at http://www.cruzio.com/support/specials/buddybucks.html This form isn't required, but your friend will have to tell us your account number, your email address, or the full name on the account. Thanks! *(For the curious, St. Swithin's Day is July 15th. It has been remembered because his body, originally buried in an outdoor grave, was moved inside Winchester Cathedral on that day in 971 AD. St. Swithin must have preferred the outdoors, because it rained for 40 days thereafter, and the monks who'd moved him were roundly blamed.) 4. Santa Cruz Digital Arts Festival Cruzio is a co-sponsor and founding member of the first ever Santa Cruz Digital Arts Festival this April. The Festival will highlight digital artists of all kinds, including video, print, theater, web, audio, and game artists at various venues around town during the month of April. Cruzio and the Wired Wash Cafe are producing two of this April's events. Both are FREE, and at the Wired Wash Cafe, 135 Laurel Street. (Next to Kinko's in downtown Santa Cruz.) Friday, April 12th: "A Digital Video Artists Forum" 7-9:30 pm. A panel discussion with independent filmmakers and digital video artists. The Forum will include talented artists, sound engineers and Web developers presenting their visual works and discussing their creative inspirations, challenges and techniques at the Wired Wash Cafe. Friday, April 19th "Cruzio's 13th Birthday Bash, An Evening of Digital Gaming, Music, and Video" 7-9:30 pm. Cruzio will celebrate its coming-into-adolescence with an evening of fun and games. A panel discussion with local video game artists and digital music creators, followed by a chance to game and party at the Wired Wash Cafe! To learn more about all of the events featured during the Santa Cruz Digital Art s Festival, visit http://www.santacruzdigitalarts.org 5. Se habla Espanol at Cruzio Cruzio's Spanish team is hosting a free Introduction to the Internet in Spanish on Wednesday, March 27th from 5:45 to 7pm. The event will be held at Careerworks, 18 W. Main St in Watsonville. Call Cruzio for more information about this event, or to find out about our Spanish services. We'll be hosting many more events in South County both in English and Spanish. Se habla Espanol! 6. About This Newsletter Cruzio doesn't like to waste bandwidth with extra email, but we sometimes have events and announcements that users need to know about. This seems like the most efficient way to let people know what's happening. Hope it's helpful. Please email support@cruzio.com with any comments or questions. By the way, we would love to have a regular, predictable schedule for this newsletter...but we simply do not send it unless there is real news enclosed. Thus the haphazard datelines. 7.
