10/26/2019 11:00PM – PG&E related outage in downtown Santa Cruz, Harvey West, Westside, Live Oak areas

Due to the PG&E outage starting at 10:45PM on Saturday, 10/26, the networking hardware that serves some customers in the downtown Santa Cruz, Harvey West, Westside, and Live Oak areas are currently on battery/UPSes.  This affects customers with Fiber, Wireless, Certified, Dedicated, and Enterprise access services in those areas.

We will be triaging generators and battery swaps in the coming hours, but these affected customers should expect some service outages as we migrate gear to alternate power sources.

We currently do not have a time estimate from PG&E on restoration.

Please expect updates here in the coming hours.

10/26/2019 1:45PM – Cruzio Response to the upcoming PG&E Power Outages [UPDATE]

PG&E has announced that electrical service will be shut off for most of Santa Cruz County starting at 5PM today for a Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) event.

Cruzio Field Technicians and Support Staff will be monitoring and maintaining the networking equipment that provides internet services 24/7 during this PSPS event. We are standing by to refresh our backup power facilities to the extent possible. However, there may be some customer downtime during extended power events.

As long as we have power, Cruzio customers impacted by the outages can come by Cruzio’s Main Office at 877 Cedar st, Santa Cruz, during open hours (9AM to 6PM, Monday through Friday, and 10AM-2PM Saturday) to use the internet.

As always, we will update this network status message with new information as we receive it.
