1/25/2017 12:45PM – [UPDATE] fiber outage causing unexpected low speeds / packet loss
Our upstream fiber provider has informed us that the cause of the outage is a slide that has destroyed multiple infrastructure pathways including Cruzio’s fiber, PG&E power lines, as well as destroying a road.
There is currently no ETA for repair, although crews are on-site and will be working around the clock to restore services
We will update this status as new information becomes available.
1/25/2017 9:35AM – fiber issue causing unexpected low speeds / packet loss
Cruzio engineers are currently looking into an issue with our primary fiber connection for customers with Enterprise and Business Broadband services in the Santa Cruz area. This is most likely due to a fiber cut.
Customers are currently on our backup connection, and will see slower than normal speeds and/or sporadic packet loss until this is resolved. We will update this as soon as we can.
This will affect customers with Colocation, Enterprise, Business Broadband, Dedicated Business Broadband and Cruzioworks services. Velocity, DSL, and dial-up customers are not affected.

Due to an ongoing PG&E power outage from this weekend’s storm, customers in the Weston Road area of Scotts Valley will be subject to internet outages every evening from 10:00PM to 6:00AM. There is a third-party owned and operated generator onsite that powers our gear, and to conserve fuel and power usage, the generator will be turned off at 10:00PM, and turned back on at 6:00AM.
This will continue through this Friday 1/13/17. We will amend this status as we receive updates.
