2015-11-16 @ 4:00PM – slow speeds due to fiber outage

Cruzio network engineers have identified a problem with our upstream connection out to the internet, possibly due to a cut/break in our fiber.  Customers are currently on our backup wireless connection.

If you are currently experiencing much slower than expected download speeds, it is most likely a current issue with Cruzio’s connection to the internet and not a localized problem with your own radio or equipment.

We hope to have this fixed as soon as possible.

Customers that are affected:
– Enterprise wireless customers in the Santa Cruz, Seabright, Live Oak, and Capitola areas
– Business broadband wireless and in-building wired customers in the Santa Cruz, Seabright, Live Oak, and Capitola areas
– Colo customers
– Cruzioworks coworking and office customers

Customers that will not be affected:
– All Velocity customers
– All DSL customers
– Enterprise wireless customers in the Westside Santa Cruz, Scotts Valley, Aptos, and Watsonville areas
– Business broadband wireless and in-building wired customers in the Westside Santa Cruz, Scotts Valley, and Watsonville areas
– All dial-up customers
Thank you for your patience, we are working to have your internet connection back up to normal speeds as soon as possible.

11/15/15 @ ~ 11:05am – Power Outage in Scotts Valley

This is a courtesy notice to a small group of our customers: As of about 11:05am this morning, there is a power outage in a rural area of Scotts Valley, affecting some customers’ internet connections. Our network gear in the area is currently on backup power and customers who also have backup power should still be online. As noted on PG&E’s website, they have been dispatched to the area to asses the cause.
